We are Your Neighbors!

In 1994, new to the area, Barbara Burrows placed an ad in the local paper inviting other newcomers to her home for coffee – thus began the organization that became New Neighbors of Gig Harbor. Today, the organization has nearly 1,000 members who participate in their choice of over 60 activity groups including a variety of book clubs, hiking, biking, dining, art groups, cards and games, men’s groups, and regional outings. All of these groups are led by member volunteers and new groups are formed with Board approval when 10 or more members have an interest that isn't currently covered by one of our groups. We hold monthly Membership Business Luncheons with fabulous speakers covering a wide array of topics. In keeping with the tradition of Barbara's initial gathering, New Neighbors hosts a new and prospective member coffee in a current member home or a local coffee shop each month. To accommodate a variety of schedule demands, we also hold evening and weekend gatherings to better accommodate diverse schedules.
