Creative Art Groups

Active Arts

Chair: Susan Locke, susanlocke1950@icloud.com

Try various new art forms with a group of friends.  The end results vary, but the idea is to have fun and let your creative flag fly!  Some of the activities have included lunch or dinner as well to fuel our artistic juices.

We have blown glass, created Psanky eggs, tried Alcohol Ink, and painted Ceramics so far.  I’m always on the lookout for fun new adventures for our group!  We also try to share our results on the New Neighbors Facebook page to encourage others to join in.

Painted Ladies

Chair: Kandi Horton, candih@comcast.net

Painted Ladies get together usually twice a month, except in the summer.  We paint in the decorative painting style with acrylics, often on objects such as bowls, trays, bottles, birdhouses, clothespins, Christmas decorations, gourds or whatever anyone’s imagination comes up with!  We meet in a member’s home, so we have a small group.  We have a long-time painter who helps us all with our projects, in addition to teaching a new class member from time to time.
